The creature was born in a village in Thailand

Just in case you haven't yet had your fill of deformed creatures guaranteed to strike terror even into the bravest of souls, here's another such bizarre animal: an alleged hybrid said to have the head of a crocodile and the body of a buffalo.

The odd-looking creature was not too long ago born in a remote village in Thailand. Locals say it died shortly after delivery. Rather than bury it, they decided to hold on to its corpse for a while so that reporters and wildlife researchers could have a look at it.

The animal looks positively grotesque

This supposed hybrid beast born in Thailand truly is quite a sight. Let's face it, it sure beats the five-legged lambs or three-eyed goats that have been grabbing headlines lately.

As mentioned, the creature appears to have the head of a crocodile. Then, its body also seems to be covered in scales, as if it were a reptile.

At a closer look, however, it becomes obvious that its body is that of a calf. Mind you, it even has hooves. True, they are a bit deformed, but they're there alright.

Villagers think the creature is good luck

Although baffled by the creature, locals don't think it a bad omen or anything of the kind. Au contraire, they believe its birth will bring luck to the village, DM reports.

This explains why they haven't yet buried its body and why people are flocking to see it and touch it, rather than try to get away from it as quickly as possible.

Perhaps, once the novelty wears off, they will agree that the best thing to do is get rid of it. Otherwise, it will surely be a while until they can sleep at night without worrying about it.

Since researchers haven't yet had the chance to examine it, it's unclear what the beast really is. Then again, it's safe to assume it's probably just a really bad-looking buffalo calf.
