After a few updates to BBM Beta on all major platforms, Android, iOS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry, the Canadian company has decided to finally bring some important new features to its instant messaging application.

Both Android and iOS versions of BlackBerry Messenger have just been updated with important improvements that add more functionality into the mix.

Let's start with the iOS version of BBM, which seems to have slightly more new features and improvements included. First of all, BlackBerry added iOS 9 support with quick reply. Apple Watch support has been implemented as well, along with the option to send videos in chats.

These are all the changes to the iOS version of BBM that have nothing to do with the Android application. On the other hand, BBM for Android now features customizable font size within BBM conversations with pinch-to-zoom.

The usual bug fixes and improvements have been added, too

The rest of the new features and improvements have been added to both Android and iOS versions of BlackBerry Messenger.

The most important enhancement seems to be the PayPal integration, which allows sending money to BBM contacts as an attachment. Enhancements to BBM Voice connectivity have been implemented too, along with bug fixes and performance improvements.

Last but not least, BBM users will now be able to view, like, and comment on group pictures and other events from within BBM feeds.

Keep in mind that some of the features implemented today have been available for those using the beta version of BBM for quite some time now.

You can now download BBM for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.

For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
