Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are planning to launch the third piece of downloadable content for Battlefield Hardline, called Getaway, during the month of January 2016.

The two companies are saying that the four maps being added to the first-person shooter are called Diversion, Train Dodge, Double Cross and Pacific Highway, all of them optimized to allow gamers to use speed and vehicles to achieve their objectives.

Battlefield Hardline will also get a new Capture the Flag mode with Getaway, and there are also four new vehicles that can be used to both assault the opposition and move teammates across the maps.

The Mechanic class will receive three new weapons while the rest get access to one more gadget and an option for melee, designed to make combat more diverse.

Gamers who want to customize their characters can deploy four camos that are designed to fit the theme of the DLC.

Visceral Games is saying, "A great getaway is key to a great heist. If you’re a criminal wheelman, your payday is dependent on your ability to evade the cops. If you drive for the law, the fastest way to earn your badge is to take down the thieves before they can escape into a cloud of dust and burnt rubber. Ready to rev your engines?"

Those who have the Premium option for Battlefield Hardline will get access to Getaway during January 2016, and the rest of the community will receive the same DLC two weeks later.

Those who will not get the new content will also receive a range of tweaks via a free update as well as access to an unspecified set of weapons.

Battlefield 4 is getting DLC as well

The older title in the franchise is also getting more content from DICE and Electronic Arts, who are aiming to deliver a new set of maps called Legacy Operations.

Gamers can get it on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC, and it includes access to a remake of Dragon Valley and a new environment based on Noshahr Canals.

Battlefield 4 is further getting a wide range of fixes and tweaks that are designed to improve the experience for those who continue to play the shooter, and the entire community will get the DLC for free.

Hardline is supposed to get access to one more package in 2016, but it's unclear how long DICE will continue to work on its title.

One of the leading developers inside the studio has announced that he is shifting from the recently launched Star Wars Battlefront to a new Battlefield experience.

He did not offer any sort of information about the coming experience, which Electronic Arts is aiming to launch on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in the fall of next year.

Rumors are saying that the game will use a contemporary military theme, and an official reveal will probably arrive during the spring of 2016.
