It's unclear how long it will take to bring them back up

Both Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline are at the moment affected by problems that are linked to both the login process and overall access, and the Battlelog service is also currently down, with the companies involved unable to offer a clear reason for the issues for the time being.

The official Twitter account of the series says that both DICE and Visceral Games are working to find the cause and to deliver a fix as soon as possible.

Some fans are saying that they were unable to access the two titles for a few hours, while the issues have impacted others more recently.

Those who are looking to play either Battlefield 4 or Battlefield Hardline believe that the two developers and publisher Electronic Arts should strive to communicate more with the community, especially when problems are affecting the game.

The idea is to acknowledge the issue as soon as possible and to then try and offer a clear ETA for when full functionality is restored to a title, making sure that gamers do not waste their time trying to access it when it is down.

Both Battlefield titles are getting more content in 2015

Despite its age, Battlefield 4 remains an active project for the team at DICE, who is at the moment working on a revival of a classic map expected to be delivered for the community later this year.

The studio might also introduce a fall weapons balance, to mirror the one that arrived in the spring, designed to implement the various feedback that gamers have been offering.

Visceral Games has recently launched the first major downloadable content pack, called Criminal Activity, for Battlefield Hardline, and three more of them are scheduled to arrive, with at least one coming before the end of 2015.

Shooter fans will be able to play the Star Wars: Battlefront title from DICE on November 17 of this year on the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Electronic Arts has suggested that an entirely new mainstream Battlefield experience will probably be announced in the first few months of next year but might not actually appear until 2017, with some significant upgrades both in terms of gameplay and graphics.
