Rocksteady isn't fixing the game anytime soon

It seems that Warner Bros. and Rocksteady are going to finally release the long-awaited performance updates for Batman: Arkham Knight in September, at least according to the Australian division of retailer EB Games, which claims direct communication with the publisher.

Batman: Arkham Knight launched last month after several delays and plenty of promises about how the new title would delight the Caped Crusader's legions of fans. However, only PS4 and Xbox One users were able to enjoy the game, as the PC version was crippled by major performance issues.

After the serious backlash and the waves of refunds on Steam, developer Warner Bros. suspended the sale of the game and pledged to release updates that would remedy the game.

A small patch arrived some time ago, but there are still many major problems with the game, which Rocksteady and Warner Bros. hope to solve in the next few weeks.

Retailer claims the updates will arrive in September at the earliest

Now, an internal memo from the Australian division of international retailer EB Games, obtained by Kotaku, claims that the latest timeframe given by Warner Bros. for fixing the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is this fall.

The retailer explains to its staff that the sales of the game have been stopped and that all PC copies should be sent back to Warner Bros.

“We have stopped sales of Batman: Arkham Knight PC while Warner and Rocksteady work on addressing performance issues with the game. The latest information from Warner is that the updates won’t be available until spring,” the retailer says in the memo.

Before you get all worried, the spring season in Australia coincides with the fall in the northern hemisphere, so the updates might arrive as early as September.

Neither Rocksteady nor Warner Bros. has shared any other details about the release of the new patches, so fans will have to wait and see when exactly they'll appear on PC.
