A brand new report has appeared online concerning the myriad of problems encountered by Batman: Arkham Knight on the PC platform, claiming that publisher Warner Bros. knew about all of them but decided that they weren't big enough to prompt a delay.

Batman: Arkham Knight launched last week across PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms all around the world. The long-awaited title, which got several delays before it finally made its debut, delighted PS4 and Xbox One users.

Unfortunately for PC owners, however, the game encountered a huge amount of problems, specifically when it came to performance, framerate, and general errors.

Warner Bros. suspended the game's sale on PC, while developer Rocksteady pledged to release updates and patches in order to solve these errors.

The problems were known but they weren't deemed important

Now, Kotaku brings forth a fresh report citing multiple sources that worked on testing and quality assurance for the actual game.

Apparently, Arkham Knight had a huge number of problems across all platforms, but Rocksteady managed to solve most of them for the PS4 and Xbox One versions ahead of launch. Warner Bros. was aware of the performance issues on PC but deemed that they weren't that big of an issue, so a delay wasn't made for that edition of the game.

In order to maximize the testing process, the Warner Bros. internal QA team focused on testing the game at a 720p resolution, instead of the usual 1080p. What's more, the game couldn't be tested on that many configurations.

It appears that external companies usually take on the task of ensuring that the game runs on a myriad of computers, but because Warner Bros. and Rocksteady didn't want story details to leak online, it just skipped over this whole critical part of the testing process.

Warner Bros. didn't comment on the report, so don't expect to hear anything official from the publisher. It did, however, pledge to continue the game's sale once most of the problems are fixed.
