14 DAY TRIAL // Sony was present at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month, and although the company was expected to announce at least one new smartphone, it actually didn’t. The successor to the Xperia XA was said to make an appearance at CES, but ultimately it wasn’t announced.
Last month, Sony’s Xperia XA successor was spotted in a batch of leaked renders, showing an interesting design for the new phone. A new batch of images has just leaked over at ePrice, but they are a bit low resolution. It’s unclear if the phone depicted in the images is actually the Xperia XA successor, but some design elements do suggest so.
The phone doesn’t appear to come with a power-key, which means that the fingerprint sensor might be relocated on the new device. In addition, the phone appears to come with a USB Type-C port and will be made available in at least three color variants, including red, purple, and navy blue.

The smartphone doesn’t have a name or a code number yet, but since it has leaked in multiple images, more details should surface soon. The device appears to come with a 3.5mm audio jack and will have very think bezels on the left and right. The phone is said to measure 145 x 66.8 x 7.99mm, which means that it might have a 5-inch display with at least 720p resolution.
The successor to last year’s Xperia XA might be announced during MWC, set to start on February 27 in Barcelona. Sony announced the mid-ranger Xperia XA during last year’s MWC and released the phone in the summer of 2016. It featured a 5-inch HD display with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It also had a MediaTek MT6755 processor and a 13MP camera on the back, with 8MP in the front.
