For those who are not familiar with BADLAND, this is one of the most exciting games in the Windows Phone store at the moment, having no less than 800 reviews and an overall rating of 4.5. It’s a sidescrolling action adventure platformer that comes with 80 levels and additional packs with 20 levels available as in-app purchases.
Multiplayer mode also available
There is a multiplayer mode as well, with up to four players allowed on the same device, but also a co-operative mode for up to 4 players. Touch controls are excellent and the responsive displays of the new Lumia models are just perfect to play it. An older Lumia model will do just fine, though, as any model should be able to play it flawlessly.
“BADLAND is an atmospheric sidescrolling action adventure platformer taking place in a gorgeous forest full of various inhabitants, trees and flowers,” the description posted in the store reads.
“Although the forest looks like it’s from some beautiful fairytale, there seems to be something terribly wrong. The player controls one of the forest’s inhabitants to discover what’s going on. Through his journey he discovers astonishing amount of imaginative traps and obstacles.”
BADLAND is living proof that really awesome games can exist on Windows Phone too, despite the criticism that Microsoft’s smartphone operating system does not deserve a chance given the lack of apps. Fortunately, some devs are noticing the opportunity that exists in Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile and BADLAND’s creators are among them.
