Although Samsung said it will release the bada 2.0 for several Wave devices this year, it appears that the Korean handset manufacturer was forced to delay the launch of the latest version of its proprietary mobile platform.

According to Samsung Turkey Facebook page, bada 2.0 for Samsung Wave I, Wave II, Wave 723, Wave 578 and Wave 575 will be available sometime in 2012.

Even though the confirmation is only available for Turkey, we can speculate that Samsung will release bada 2.0 for all regions around the same timeframe.

In the same news, Samsung explained earlier this month that Wave 525 and Wave 533 won’t get the bada 2.0 upgrade due to hardware requirements which do not allow it to run bada 2.0 on these smartphones.

However, the company plans to offer Wave 525 and 533 owners a small “Value Pack” update as compensation.  The “Value Pack” will add “a glimpse” of what bada 2.0 has to offer.

I expected this news because situation with bada 1.2 was the same :). Most important is that we get this update and that it will be as soon as possible. The bad thing is that this delay will cause that some customers will switch to other OS, mainly Android because it gets updates often.
