14 DAY TRIAL // In just a month on the market, iOS 11 has reached an install base of no less than 54.49 percent, which means that more than half of the supported Apple devices are now running the most recent version of the operating system.
Analytics firm Mixpanel says that while nearly 55 percent of the supported devices are already on iOS 11, no less than 39.17 percent of them are still running iOS 10, while 6.34 percent stick with older versions of the operating system.
While having more than half of the supported devices running the latest version of iOS is quite an achievement after one month on the market, iOS 11 has provided terrible experience to a substantial number of users who decided to upgrade their iPhones and iPads.
iOS 11, the buggiest release so far
iOS 11 has often been described as one of the buggiest iOS releases so far, as it causes terrible battery life, including in standby, with reports posted online revealing there are cases when autonomy dropped to just 6 hours after the update. Furthermore, issues caused by iOS 11 also include app crashes, freezes, and lag, and the three minor updates that Apple shipped already brought no significant change.
In fact, there are users who claim that all these updates made things even worse, and Apple isn’t even acknowledging the issues to promise a fix.
In the meantime, the company is already working on iOS 11.1, as several betas were shipped to developers and public testers, but judging from the performance provided by the most recent updates, it’s hard to believe a substantial overhaul would be provided.
On the other hand, iOS 11.1 should boost adoption of iOS 11, as there are currently lots of users still running iOS 10 and refusing to upgrade, hoping for a more stable and bug-free experience with the new operating system.
