avast! products (Free Antivirus, Pro Antivirus and Internet Security) received an update, which changes the version number to 7.0.1466.

The new release features mostly fixes, but the developer also announces improved stability and performance of Outlook plugin.

Repairs eliminate the “Black screen” syndrome and crashes in Internet Explorer WebRep module. Additionally, users should no longer experience random switching to the Safezone, available in Pro and Internet Security editions. Other fixes refer to SNX issues, BSODs and leaks.

However, the Script Shield issue with Google Chrome browser persists in this revision.

The developer is aware of the problem and is currently working on it, but “Chrome changes so often, it's a moving target that we cannot solve without the ability to be able to replace the code on a daily basis,” said Ondřej Vlček, CTO at AVAST Software. Furthermore, the company representative notes that the fix should be available in version 8 of avast!
