Asus India has just unveiled yet another Zenfone series smartphone, the Zenfone Go 4.5. Judging by the phone's specs, this should be the most affordable Zenfone smartphone launched by Asus.

Although Asus introduced the Zenfone Go 4.5 in India, the smartphone won't be available until the second week of January 2016.

Asus also confirmed that the device would be available for purchase exclusively via Flipkart for Rs 5,299 ($80 / €75) outright. Customers will also receive up to Rs 2,000 ($30 / €27) discount on exchange.

Even though the Zenfone Go 4.5 comes with low-end specs inside, at least the smartphone ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

Totally unimpressive, but comes with Lollipop preloaded

As the name suggests, the affordable smartphone sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 854 x 480 pixels resolution.

On the inside, the Zenfone Go 4.5 packs a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, a Mali 400 MP2 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Also, the smartphone has only 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

At the back, Asus Zenfone Go 4.5 features a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, but there's also a secondary VGA camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity-wise, the cheap smartphone comes with 3G and dual-SIM support, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS with AGPS support. Last but not least, the Zenfone Go 4.5 is powered by a 1,600 mAh battery.

“ZenFone Go wraps up an extremely successful year for us in India. We are elated to see the response that we received through the year for our ZenFone range of smartphones and are sure that our offering for the budget segment packed with features at an affordable price, will be appreciated by our users as well,” said Mr. Peter Chang, ASUS India.
