14 DAY TRIAL // Along with Samsung Galaxy, the Zenfone family seems to be one of the largest in the smartphone business. That being said, it doesn't come as a surprise that Asus plans to launch yet another Zenfone handset.
Since the first devices in the Zenfone family arrived on the market, they were aimed at the mid-range market. Some of Asus' smartphones are priced as mid-end devices, but they include top-of-the-line specs.
The new smartphone listed at GFXBench is rumored to be the first Zenfone 3 smartphone. Dubbed Asus Z010DD, the device is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, which is one of the phone's strong points.
Although the unannounced Zenfone smartphone sports a huge 5.9-inch capacitive touchscreen display, the HD (720p) resolution is a bit disappointing.
Only HD resolution for such a large display
However, there's a chance that this prototype unit might not have reported the full specs correctly, and the alleged Zenfone 3 will come with a full HD (1080p) display in the end.
Even though some Zenfone 2 smartphones come with 4GB of RAM inside, the upcoming Zenfone 3 includes only 3GB of RAM. Naturally, Asus might launch a different version with more RAM inside, but the information hasn't been confirmed yet.
Also, the Z010DD will be powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. The massive phablet packs no less than 32GB of internal memory, but there's no mention of microSD card slot.
At the back, the Zenfone 3 features a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Another variation of the Zenfone 3 is now listed at GFXBench with model number Z012D. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, paired with an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit and 3GB RAM.
Also, this version of Zenfone 3 sports a slightly smaller 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, and comes with 32GB of storage inside.
