14 DAY TRIAL // Qualcomm released the upgraded Snapdragon 821 processor just yesterday, and it seems that ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe will be the first smartphone to get it. ASUS unveiled the ZenFone 3 Deluxe during this year's Computex event held in May.
While there was much speculation suggesting that the new Snapdragon 821 would be featured on Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 first, it seems that ASUS has beat Samsung to the punch and will pack the new processor on its flagship smartphone, according to Engadget. Snapdragon 821 brings only a few improvements over the previous processor model, but even slightly increased performance is welcome.
Snapdragon 821 actually comes with 10% increased performance over Snapdragon 820 and offers fixes to issues that the previous model experienced, one of them being overheating. Snapdragon 820 was featured on many flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, so it's only natural to expect the Snapdragon 821 to be popular among smartphone manufacturers as well.
ASUS has also announced the ZenPad 3S 10 tablet today
ASUS' ZenFone 3 Deluxe will be the first to get SD 821, but the company will also offer variants of the phone with SD 820. As it turns out, the handset will be available in a variant with Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 256GB UFS 2.0 storage. The other two versions provide either 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The top-of-the-line variant will be sold for the price of $780.
ASUS has also announced the ZenPad 3S 10 tablet during an event held today. The tablet has a 9.7-inch LCD display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and an 8MP camera on the back while front camera capacity reaches 5MP. What’s more, the device runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.
It also has a hexa-core MediaTek chip, a fingerprint reader, and a 5,900mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and UBS Type-C port. The tablet will be available in Taiwan in August for the price of $340.
