The Consumer Electronics Show is held in January every year and is one of the best places for smartphone makers to announce their latest products to the world. ASUS will take advantage of this opportunity this year to unveil a new ZenFone device running the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset.

ASUS has just teased an upcoming phone in the ZenFone series that will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. The smartphone running the 10nm SoC will arrive later this week, possibly during ASUS’s keynote which is scheduled for January 4.

Qualcomm is also expected to reveal some details regarding the Snapdragon 835 SoC during CES, but slides of the presentation have leaked online earlier. The chipset will be much more powerful than its predecessors, smaller and more efficient, as it will consume half the battery that Snapdragon 801 takes up.

The upcoming ZenFone could have dual-camera setup on the back

In order to raise some hype around the upcoming event, ASUS also released a video teasing new ZenFone smartphones. The video doesn’t reveal much about the new phones, it only hints towards the new innovations they will bring, seeing how the name of the keynote is Zennovation.

Not many details are known about the upcoming ZenFone device, but ASUS did post teasers last month, revealing a dual-camera setup on phones to be presented at CES. Moreover, the devices could be launched together with VR headsets.

One of the phones to be announced at CES is ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom, a mid-ranger running Snapdragon 625, with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The phone could also have a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD and a battery capacity of 4,850mAh, enough to keep the device’s light on for a reasonable amount of time. Aside from this, it will most likely run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

With only a couple of days left until ASUS’s keynote, we’re quite curious to see what the company has prepared for us.
