Asus has already launched two Zenfone 2 variants, which are now available for purchase all over the world. One of the most popular mid-range Android smartphones available on the market, the Zenfone 2, offers a great price / performance ratio.

Customers can purchase the Asus Zenfone 2 in the United States for $200 or $300. The former amount will get them the cheaper version with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, while the most expensive version packs 4GB of RAM and no less than 64GB of internal memory.

Today, Asus announced the immediate availability of another Zenfone 2 variant, which will be an intermediate between the two models that are already available on the market, a new report confirms.

The new version of Asus Zenfone 2 can be purchased in the United States for only $230 outright. For the time being, it's listed at Amazon, B&H Photo and Newegg, but other retailers might stock the new Zenfone 2 in the near future.

Another budget option for Android fans

Unlike the other two models, this one comes with 4GB of RAM and only 16GB of storage, which shouldn't be an issue since the Zenfone 2 packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

The rest of the phone's specs are similar to the other two models. This means that it sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Also, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Asus Zenfone 2 is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor and a PowerVR G6430 graphics processing unit.

It offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support, and it's powered by a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery. It ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop on board and Asus ZenUI on top of it.
