ASUS has been offering some really affordable tablets with satisfactory specs, and the company has now released another device of this kind, namely the ZenPad Z8 for Verizon. As expected, the tablet has some decent specs while its price isn’t bad either.

Specifically, ASUS ZenPad Z8 comes with a 16-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and provides 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is quite modest, so users are also given the option to expand the storage to 128GB.

The tablet also sports an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP one on the front. It has a 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. The ZenPad Z8 offers a 178-degree viewing angle, and it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with ZenUI on top.

The ZenPad Z8 is available through Verizon for $149.99 (€133)

ASUS’ tablet packs dual front-facing stereo speakers offering DTS-HD sound and hides a 4,680mAh battery inside. 4G connectivity options via SIM is offered, and so are Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and GLONASS. You should also know that it comes with USB Type-C port.

The first leak of this tablet appeared not long ago, when partial specs and an image surfaced online. The ZenPad Z8 is not much of an improvement over its predecessor, the ZenPad S 8.0, which was launched last year.

The tablet had an 8-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1536 x 2048 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. It featured a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3530 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz but came with less advanced cameras, as the rear unit had 5MP while the front one just 2MP. Internal memory was higher, 32GB of storage coupled with 4GB of RAM.

ASUS ZenPad Z8 is available for pre-order at Verizon Wireless starting June 23 and comes with a price tag of $149.99 (€133) with a two-year contract and $249.99 (€221).
