14 DAY TRIAL // In late May, ASUS debuted the ZenFone 3 series during the Computex event held in Taipei. Then, a few days ago, the company announced that ZenFone 3 Deluxe would be the first smartphone to receive the newly released Snapdragon 821 processor, and now it seems that they have unveiled two more handsets in the series, the ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Max.
The two smartphones have been announced during an event held in Vietnam, and the company has stated that they will be available for purchase soon, according to Techrum. Pricing has been announced as well, with the ZenFone 3 Laser expected to sell for about $268 or €241 while the ZenFone 3 Max should feature a price tag of $201 or €181. Availability outside Vietnam hasn't been announced.
Both smartphones have metal cases and run Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Zen UI on top. ZenFone 3 Laser is the successor to ZenFone 2 Laser and comes with 0.03s second-generation laser autofocus system for the 13MP rear camera with PixelMaster and Sony IMX214 sensor. The camera also offers electronic image stabilization and has a color correction sensor.
The phone packs a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D curved glass. It's also powered by an octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, and it provides 32GB of internal storage. In addition, it features a fingerprint scanner, with the handset being quite thick at 7.9mm.
ASUS has also unveiled ZenFone 3 Max with a 4,100mAh battery
ASUS ZenFone 3 Max has a smaller, 5.2-inch IPS LCD full-HD display and provides the same internal storage, but only 3GB of RAM. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner that should unlock it in 0.2 seconds, as the company has announced during the event.
Other than that, the handset is powered by a 4,100mAh battery, but there are no specifics on its processor model. Also worth mentioning is that it will also come with a power bank mode for reverse charging. Both phones will be available in Titanium Grey, Glacier Silver, and Sand Gold colors.
