14 DAY TRIAL // The Ariana Grande DonutGate scandal continues, this time with more details on the pop star’s duplicitous nature. After surveillance footage emerged last week showing her putting her tongue on donuts in a shop display and saying she hated America and Americans, she tried to excuse her behavior by saying she was frustrated at this display of some of America’s most unhealthy foods.
As it turns out, Ariana loves donuts as well. A new video from the same footage captured by surveillance cameras has popped up online, and it confirms 2 things: first of all, self-titled vegan Ariana isn’t a vegan when it comes to donuts, and secondly, she lied when she said she ate healthy.
New video exposes Ariana for a liar
In her initial apology, Ariana addressed the “I hate America. I hate Americans” comment by saying she grew so frustrated with all the unhealthy options before her because it reminded her of the obesity problem the country is facing.
She didn’t say it directly, but she hinted that she wasn’t the one buying the donuts because she would never touch this kind of calorie bombs.
“As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole,” she said. “The fact that the United States has the highest child obesity rate in the world frustrates me. We need to do more to educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of overeating and the poison that we put into our bodies. We need to demand more from our food industry.”
The new video, available below, shows beyond any doubt that it was Ariana who was doing the donut shopping and who asked for the best the California shop had to offer, regardless of the calories and sugar in them.
She even takes half a donut and eats it right after paying, before leaving the shop. In between ordering and leaving, she and her new boyfriend dared each other to lick the donuts on display and then laughed very pleased with themselves when they did it.
Besides the 2 donuts she licked, Ariana also spit on a couple of them, the donut shop owner told the media last week.
Ariana isn’t much of a vegan
Last month, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) named Miley Cyrus the sexiest celebrity vegetarian for the year 2015, with Ariana Grande getting a spot on the list of honorable mentions as well.
This new video also proves that we shouldn’t necessarily believe all that comes out of celebrities’ mouths, because we have no way of knowing, other than their word on, what goes in.
TMZ says that this particular shop in California doesn’t carry any vegan version of all the donuts they’re selling, so Ariana isn’t a “full-time” vegan, despite her claims.
