14 DAY TRIAL // Ariana Grande knows that some of her fans might not have forgiven her for acting like a spoiled brat in a donut shop in July this year, licking the products on display and then going off on how much she hated America and all fat Americans, so she’s apologizing for it once more.
The pop star is now launching her first fragrance, which she’s promoting with an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America. She started off the chat by issuing another formal apology for the extremely embarrassing incident, as you can see in the video below.
Ariana is really sorry
After the surveillance video from the California shop where Ariana did the donut-licking was sold to the media and posted online, Ariana issued several apologies, including a video addressed directly to her fans.
In it, she insisted she wasn’t looking to excuse her behavior because there was no excuse for it, and she promised she would learn from the experience. She says those things again, adding that the most “painful” lesson from all this was seeing how many people she hurt, the same people that loved and supported her in her career.
“First of all, I mean, my behavior was very offensive and I apologized,” Ariana says. “There’s no excuse or there’s nothing to justify it. As human beings we all say and do things we don’t mean at all sometimes. And we have to learn from it. That’s part of our process. We have to learn from our mistakes and that’s how we grow.”
New fragrance, new music
With the apology out of the way, Ariana delivers 2 pieces of good news to her fans: first of all, she’s making her debut in the fragrance industry, with Ari by Ariana Grande. “Because it’s my fragrance,” she adds, completely unnecessarily.
She says she’s been involved in the entire creative process behind the fragrance, from coming up with the concept for the bottle to offering ideas about how it should smell. The bottle is all Ariana, as you can see: it’s pink and delicate, and comes with a giant white fluff ball.
The smell is also all Ariana, with the pop star describing it as very sweet and fruity, girly and delicious.
The second big piece of news is that Ariana also has new music coming up: she will be releasing a new single soon but she’s not ready yet to talk about it. She will, however, be unveiling the official name of the song this week.
