Today, March 23, 2016, the maintainer of the LXDE and LXQt community editions of the Arch Linux-based Manjaro has proudly announced the release and immediate availability for download of Manjaro Linux LXDE 16.03.

Based on the current stable repositories of the Manjaro Linux operating system, the Manjaro Linux LXDE 16.03 edition arrives today with many up-to-date components, among which we can mention the Linux 4.4.5 LTS kernel, LXDM login manager, Manajaro Settings Manager, and PCManFM file manager.

LXDM is accompanied by the LXDM Configurator, which lets users tweak their display manager. Then, the PaleMoon web browser and Slypheed email client are also present, along with the Transmission BitTorrent client, HexChat IRC client, AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, and qpdfview document viewer.

"The Manjaro Community is proud to present our new Lxde Edition. Manjaro-Lxde aims to be light, fast and resource friendly, yet at the same time complete and ready to use for all typical everyday office and multimedia needs," says Esclapion, maintainer of Manjaro LXDE/LXQt. "Stable branch was used to create the install media. The 32bit ISO has CD-size, the 64bit version has multilib enabled."

Calamares 2.0 is the default graphical manager

Manjaro Linux LXDE 16.03 comes with many other interesting software projects pre-installed, and among the most popular ones, we can notice Gparted, LXTask, QISOUSB, Pamac, Pavucontrol, GPicView, GIMP, MtPaint, PulseAudio, LXMusic, QMMP, MPV, SMPlayer, and NetworkManager.
