Apple’s September 12 event could witness the introduction not only of the iPhone 8, but also of a new-generation Apple Watch, which according to a new leak, could include LTE connectivity, fresh faces, and new colors that would align with those available on the iPhone.

Specifically, an updated Apple Watch companion app shows a device that comes with a red digital crown, which indicates that this is a refreshed model most likely to launch as the Apple Watch Series 3.

The good news is that the design seems to be very similar to the existing models, and this means that you should be able to use the same bands on the new generation as well. Additionally, there’s a chance LTE support will also be offered, given that a signal meter and new complications are available on the Watch, and this would make the device fully independent from the iPhone.

Additionally, lines of code that have been found in leaked firmware seem to indicate that the third-generation Apple Watch could come in a new Blush Gold color.

The very same color has been rumored to launch with the iPhone 8 too, and this does make sense, as Apple could opt to release both the smartphone and the smartwatch with a similar color.

There’s also a new gray ceramic version of the Apple Watch, most likely to be part of the more-expensive Apple Watch Edition, but at this point it’s not clear if gray would replace white or be offered alongside it.

The Apple Watch Series 3 will probably go on sale on Friday as part of a pre-order program, while the device would hit the market on September 22. It will be powered by the new watchOS 4, which will also be available for existing models.

Full details will be shared by Apple on Tuesday, but by the looks of things, this is going to be one of the most exciting Apple events in many years.
