14 DAY TRIAL // Apple unveiled today a special and limited edition of its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones in a vibrant red finish, available for pre-order now from Apple Store.
In an attempt to accelerate the end of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria as epidemics, Apple announced the rumored iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition today. Customers who purchase the devices will know that they have contributed to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS as 100% of all money raised by (RED) goes to this charity.
"This special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone features a stunning red and black color combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS," said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing.
Red iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus available worldwide beginning April 13
According to Apple, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition will be available worldwide online and in-store beginning April 13, when customers will be able to purchase the devices directly from Apple's website or from a local Apple Store or Apple Retailer while stocks last.
Besides having a beautiful red finish, this special edition of Apple's iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones have the same specs and price as the Space Gray, Silver, and Gold variants. They're both powered by Apple's A11 Bionic chip and feature 2 GB RAM on the iPhone 8 and 3 GB RAM on the iPhone 8 Plus model.
While the iPhone 8 comes equipped with 12 MP (f/1.8, 28mm) rear camera, the iPhone 8 Plus features a more powerful, dual rear camera system consisting of 12 MP (f/1.8, 28mm, OIS) and 12 MP (f/2.8, 57mm) cameras. They are both available in 64 GB or 256 GB variants.
The iPhone 8 features a 4.7 inches display LED-backlit IPS LCD with 750x1334 pixels resolution and 16:9 ratio, the iPhone 8 Plus model sports a 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD screen with Full HD 1080x1920 pixels resolution and a 16:9 ratio.
