Another addition might be a speedier iPad mini

With the September 9 event getting closer and closer, new details emerge about the new devices to be unveiled. The latest inclusions in the rumor mill are a new Apple TV with an upgraded processor and the long-awaited iPad Pro.

First of all, the new Apple TV should come with the exact same design as the one of the Apple TV 3rd-generation Rev A launched on January 28, 2013, but in a slightly thicker and taller case.

The other differences between the new model and the current one will probably be the A8 processor that powers the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, although using iPad Air 2's A8X could probably be a better choice due to its brawnier graphics side.

Furthermore, the standard HDMI port and USB interface available on the Apple TV 3 are the only connectivity options, besides the obvious power plug needed to power the device.

The new Apple TV to feature upgraded hardware and prices

This new model will probably come in two models, with 8 GB and 16 GB of storage, priced at $149 and $199, respectively. If you think that this amount of space does not look to be enough for a multimedia device, it seems that this is a direct result of Apple TV 4's OS based on iOS 9, an operating system that comes with an app thinning feature.

App thinning is designed to make it easier for developers to create apps that can stream all the multimedia they need directly from an Internet server, and to load content in multiple blocks to prevent lag and improve application performance.

The rumored iPad Pro will, apparently, also be announced on September 9, in a 12.9-inch format, together with a faster version of iPad mini with better cameras, presumably dubbed iPad mini 4.

Although rumors about Apple devices should be taken with a grain of salt considering the secrecy surrounding all Apple events, we tend to believe it seeing that 9to5mac has proven to have reliable sources that, most of the time, provide tips that almost always match what Apple unveils.
