Apple has just announced that its new iPad Pro tablet, along with all the accessories that let it become more productive, including the Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, will go on sale online on Wednesday while retail stores across the world should get them by the end of the week.
The iPad Pro is Apple’s biggest tablet so far, as it comes with a 12.90-inch Retina display with 5.6 million pixels plus anti-reflective and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.
Apple has used the company’s new A9X chip with a 64-bit architecture to power the device, as well as the M9 motion coprocessor, which is a similar dual-configuration featured on the iPhone 6s Plus (the phone packs the A9 chip, but with the same embedded M9 motion coprocessor).
Additionally, the iPad Pro comes with an 8-megapixal camera with autofocus, panorama support, and video recording at 1080p@30fps, plus a FaceTime HD unit with 1.2 megapixels. The iPad Pro is said to last up to 10 hours of browsing on Wi-Fi, videos, or listening to music, or 9 hours of browsing on 3G.
iPad Pro versions
There will be three iPad Pro models to choose from (all in three different metallic finishes, including silver, gold, and space gray), as follows:
32GB Wi-Fi $799 (€750) 128GB Wi-Fi $949 (€885) 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular $1.079 (€1.000)
Additionally, the Apple Pencil will be available for $99 (€85), and the Smart Keyboard will sell in charcoal gray for $169 (€145). All the above prices are only for the US market, so they could be different for the rest of the countries.
Obviously, Apple hasn’t missed the occasion to praise the iPad Pro and has claimed in a press release that demand since the September launch has been impressive, to say the least.
“The early response to iPad Pro from app developers and our customers has been incredible, and we’re excited to get iPad Pro into the hands of customers around the world this week,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
