Today, October 3, 2016, Apple started seeding the third Beta build of the upcoming macOS Sierra 10.12.1 operating system to developers who have a paid Apple Developer account.

Tagged as build 16B2338c, macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta 3 is now available for download on your Apple Developer account if you're a registered dev developing apps for the macOS, iOS, watchOS, or tvOS ecosystem. This third Beta snapshot comes one week after the release of the second one on September 27, 2016.

As expected, Apple patched various security issues discovered or reported by users since macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta 2, which means that macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta 3 is here to enhance the compatibility, security, and stability of your Mac. It can be installed on registered MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, or Mac Mini devices.

macOS 10.12 Sierra is now available as an automatic download

A Public Beta release of the macOS Sierra 10.12.1 operating system, which is the first point release of macOS Sierra 10.12, should be seeded to public beta testers in the coming hours. At the moment of writing this article, it hasn't been released, but we'll update this story as soon as Apple announces it.

If you've never installed a Beta of macOS Sierra, we've got you covered with our in-depth "Here's How to Install macOS Sierra 10.12 Public Beta on Your Mac Right Now" tutorial. However, we have to warn you that Beta software is exactly that, a Beta, which means that it might not be as stable as you'll want it to be.

In related news, after announcing the availability of the third Beta build of macOS Sierra 10.12.1 to registered developers, the Cupertino company also enabled the automatic download of the stable version of the macOS Sierra operating system for everyone using Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan or a previous build.

Update: As promised, we're updating this story today, October 4, 2016, to inform public beta testers that Apple just seeded the third Public Beta build of the upcoming macOS Sierra 10.12.1 operating system to the rest of the world, which means that now everyone can install it on their Macs. Also, please note that Apple seeded today the iOS 10.1, watchOS 3.1, tvOS 10.0.1, and Xcode 8.1 Beta 2 builds to devs.
