While the final version of the Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system has not yet hit the streets, Apple is already seeding the first Beta build of the first point release of OS X 10.11.1 to developers enrolled in the Apple Developer program.

Tagged as build 15B17c, the new Mac OS X 10.10.1 Beta operating system was published on September 17 and it is now available for download from the Member Center section of your Apple Developer account, where you can find all the details you need to install it on your Mac computer. However, please note that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for deployment on production environments where stability is of the essence.

As expected, there are no official release notes for OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan, at least at the moment of writing this article, but the word on the street is that it features Unicode 8 support, as well as those new emoji that have been added to the iOS 9.1 Beta 1 and Public Beta builds, including cheese wedge, burrito, unicorn head, taco, hot dog, and the already famous middle finger.

iOS 9.1 Beta is also available for download

The final version of the highly anticipated Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan operating system will see the light of day at the end of the month, on September 30, 2015, when all Mac users will be able to upgrade their current OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite installations and get all those awesome new features included in El Capitan.

In addition to seeding the Mac OS X 10.11.1 Beta El Capitan computer operating system to developers worldwide, Apple also announced last week that the first Beta build of the upcoming iOS 9.1 mobile operating system used on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices hit the streets in the form of a Public Beta.
