As expected, Apple seeded the second Beta builds of its upcoming iOS 11.1, macOS High Sierra 10.13.1, and tvOS 11.1 operating systems to public beta testers after it released yesterday morning the Developer Beta 2 milestone.

Now anyone who wants to try out the latest iOS, macOS or tvOS betas can easily install the respective beta profile from the Apple Beta Software Program website on their devices, then download and install the latest Public Beta build, which, in this case, is Public Beta 2 for iOS 11.1, macOS 10.13.1, and tvOS 11.1.

Tagged as builds 15B5078e for iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2, 17B35a for macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Public Beta 2, and 15J5571d for tvOS 11.1 Public Beta 2, these development releases bring certain fixes to improve the security, stability, and compatibility of supported devices, but they also introduce new features.

3D Touch app switcher gesture makes a comeback in iOS 11.1

The great news for iOS users is that Apple re-introduced the 3D Touch app switcher gesture in the Beta 2 and Public Beta 2 builds of iOS 11.1 after they removed it when iOS 11.0 was launched last month due to a "technical constraint," as Apple developer Craig Federighi revealed for a well-known media outlet.

Also added in the iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2 update is a set of new Unicode 10 emoji characters, improved Emergency SOS preferences, a fix for a reachability bug with the Home screen, and other small enhancements and bug fixes that you probably won't notice, but they're there to make sure your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch device runs smoothly.

Again, if you want to try out the iOS 11.1 Public Beta 2, macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Public Beta 2, and tvOS 11.1 Public Beta 2 releases, you can always rely on our in-depth tutorials on how to install the latest iOS 11, macOS High Sierra, and tvOS 11 Public Betas (herehere and here). But please try to keep in mind that these are still pre-release builds and they might contain unresolved bugs.
