14 DAY TRIAL // Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak revealed in a recent interview at the American Middle East Institute's 10th Conference that Steve Jobs often had an attitude towards employees that reminds of the President of the United States Donald Trump.
Discussing Apple’s early years, Wozniak explained that Jobs actually didn’t know too much about computers “inside and out,” often making mistakes about them, according to BizJournals.
“Everything Apple tried without me failed,” he said, reminding that Jobs cheated out of some money for an Atari project in the early 1970s.
“There are so many stories you don't know about,” Wozniak continued when discussing the way Steve Jobs treated employees at the company. Some members of the Mac team decided to leave the company and never work with Jobs again, he said.
Asked to provide a bit more details about Jobs’ behavior towards employees, Wozniak explained that he used to say “nasty things” about some of the workers, describing his attitude as “very Trumpish.” As a result, Woz often preferred not to argue with Jobs in order to avoid conflict.
Not interested in politics
He did admit, however, that Steve Jobs managed to do lots of great things after he returned to the company, including the iPhone. But he made the iPhone for himself, Woz stated.
Even though he compared Jobs’ personality with Donald Trump’s, Wozniak is not a big fan of the President, having described him in 2016 in an interview with Time as a “very rude person.” The Apple co-founder explained that the recent Steve Jobs biopic, which includes some references to Jobs’ personality, was “right on the mark.”
Wozniak explains that he’s always had a different approach, trying to stay out of politics because he wants “to be friends with everyone and not run into a lot of controversy.”
It goes without saying that there will certainly be a lot of people who won’t agree with his Steve Jobs remarks, including CEO Tim Cook, even though he clearly stated that there are a lot of things people don’t know about the former leader of the company.
