Battery life is terrible, some iPhone users explain

Apple has recently released iOS 11.0.3 to support iPhone and iPad models in an attempt to fix some issues on these devices, but as it turns out, this update caused more harm than good.

As with every iOS 11 update, it looks like battery life has been substantially impacted, with some users complaining of substantial battery drain even in standby mode.

Posts in this reddit discussion confirm that iOS 11.0.3 makes things worse in terms of battery life, and at the same time, it also introduces a number of other issues like lag and app problems.

For example, one user says their iPhone SE battery drops to less than 50 percent level in just a couple of hours with barely using the phone. Another one says the iPhone 7 is dropping to nearly 15 percent battery level at the end of the way, down from approximately 50 percent before the update, with no difference in usage behavior.

“Overnight my 7 bled down about 15% just sitting there with the alarm set with minimal apps allowed to refresh in the background. Charging twice a day is a huge pain. Also, since 11 nothing will ever load if I'm off wifi. Cell data is turned on. iMessage will work off of wifi as well as podcasts. But safari and Reddit and Apple Music won't load at all unless I'm using wifi,” user travelngeng explains.

iPhone turning off all by themselves

And it’s getting worse. At least one user claims that his iPhone 7 turns off all by itself even on 80 percent battery, and it’s all happening after updating to iOS 11 and now to iOS 11.0.3.

At this point, the iPhone SE appears to be the model experiencing most problems, but at the same time, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, 6s and 6 Plus, 7 and 7 Plus, and even the new 8 lineup are all said to be suffering from terrible battery life and other issues.

Just as expected, Apple hasn’t said a single word about a potential fix, and there’s a chance that users will have to wait until the next update to get an improvement.
