Bloomberg published a new report today claiming Apple is planning to release a trio of new iPhone devices later this year when the company will hold its usual iPhone launch event in September.

Last year when Apple unveiled the 10th anniversary iPhone, a.k.a. iPhone X, to the world, the Cupertino-based company said that it would path the way for future iPhone devices. Now Bloomberg offers us more details about a rumored 6.5-inch OLED iPhone that Apple will unveil this year along with a lower-priced model.

According to the report, the upcoming 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will have dual-SIM card support, a screen resolution of 1242x2688 pixels, and a gold color option. The current 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X model has a screen resolution of 1125x2436 pixels, but Apple could release a revised variant at a lower price later this year.

In other words, it's possible that this year we could say goodbye to the standard 4.7-inch iPhone models like iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, as we don't believe Apple will release an iPhone 9 device after skipping it last year and releasing the iPhone X. Bloomberg says that new iPhone devices are dubbed internally as D32 and D33.

New iPhones expected to be powered by an A12 chip

Every new year Apple releases a couple of new iPhone devices that boast improved camera and internals, so this year won't be different as the two rumored 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch OLED iPhones would be powered by the next-generation A12 chip. People familiar with their development said they'll include stainless steel edges too.

Apple usually offered several color options with each iPhone model released in the past, but the iPhone X was the only one to come only in Space Gray and Silver color options. This year, however, things might change, and we could see a gold color option too, which could boost the sales once again.

Whatever Apple will release this year, we have no doubt they'll sport facial recognition capabilities and animoji support. Also, the smartphones will be powered by Apple's upcoming iOS 12 operating system, whose features will be revealed to the world this summer in June during the WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) event.
