After releasing the iOS 11.3 software update for supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, Apple released today the final tvOS 11.3 update for supported Apple TV devices.

tvOS 11.3 is an incremental update to the tvOS 11 operating system that introduces enhancements to Match Content support, automatic frame rate switching on 4th generation Apple TV devices, automatic mode switching for AirPlay video sessions, and a bunch of brand new device management settings.

These will allow Apple TV users to better control their devices, including the ability to restrict explicit bookstore erotica and music by rating, restrict access to the Remote app for some iOS devices, as well as to restrict movies, TV shows and apps by rating. It also lets users skip the Privacy screen during setup.

TV app now available in Brazil and Mexico

With the tvOS 11.3 and iOS 11.3 updates, Apple is bringing its TV app to Brazilian and Mexican users, allowing them to discover and watch movies and TV shows in their regions. On top of that, Brazilian users can now use the Siri personal assistant on 4th generation Apple TV and Apple TV 4K devices.

Another interesting feature included in the tvOS 11.3 software update is the ability for Apple TV users to update apps while in the Single App Mode, which was previously not possible due to some restrictions. Various other performance improvements and bug fixes for issues reported since tvOS 11.2.6 are also present in this release.

If you own a fourth or fifth generation Apple TV, you might want to update to tvOS 11.3 right now. The update can be downloaded through the OTA (Over-the-Air) update system by accessing the Settings app on your Apple TV, then go to System -> Software Updates. The tvOS 11.3 will be automatically installed on your device. Apple also released today the watchOS 4.3 update for Apple Watch wearers.
