macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Public Beta 3 coming soon, too

Apple released today the third developer beta of the macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 operating system, fixing the critical WPA2 KRACK security vulnerability and other important issues.

The Beta 3 release of macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 should have been released yesterday, October 16, 2017, along with the iOS 11.1 Beta 3, tvOS 11.1 Beta 3, and watchOS 4.1 Beta 3, but it looks like Apple's engineers had to do a little more testing before unleashing the new beta versions to developers and public beta testers.

The most important fix included in the macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Beta 3 release is a patch for the recently disclosed WPA2 bug that could allow remote attackers to use a key reinstallation attack a.k.a. KRACK to steal your passwords, credit card numbers, usernames, and any other sensitive information.

As such, if you're running the macOS High Sierra Beta on your Mac, you should open up the macOS Developer Beta Access Utility to download and install the latest macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Beta 3 update, which is tagged as build 17B42a on the Apple Developer website.

Stable macOS High Sierra 10.13 installations remain vulnerable

Unfortunately, stable macOS High Sierra 10.13 installations remain vulnerable to the WPA2 KRACK security vulnerability, but we believe Apple will also port the patch that was implemented in today's developer beta to the stable channel. Until then, all you can do is to switch to the beta channel using our in-depth tutorial.

Once you completed the tutorial and successfully installed the latest macOS High Sierra Beta, new betas will automatically become available to you via the Updates tab in the Mac App Store. However, we have to warn you that beta software usually contains unresolved issues and unknown bugs, so it's not recommended for production use.
