Several under-the-hood improvements landed in the Photos app

Immediately after announcing the release of the final version of the iOS 8.4 mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPhone touch, Apple has released the final version of the highly anticipated OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite operating system for Macs.

Mac OS X 10.10.4 "Yosemite" is available today for all users of MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac computers. You can update your system(s) right now by opening the Mac App Store application, going to the Updates tab, and applying available updates.

According to the internal release notes, which you can read if you press the "More" button on the update's entry in the App Store, Mac OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite is here with multiple improvements for various core components and applications.

Among the most important ones, we can mention improvements to networking reliability, which includes many WiFi fixes, various enhancements to improve the reliability of the Migration Assistant, as well as better support when upgrading the Aperture and iPhotos libraries to the new Photos app.

Furthermore, OS X 10.10.4 addresses an annoying bug that prevented various external LCDs from working properly, and fixes a crash in the Photos app that occurred when importing certain DNG files from a Leica digital camera.

The iCloud Photo Library has been greatly improved

Moreover, the new Yosemite maintenance release brings improvements to the iCloud Photo Library service, making it more reliable when syncing your photos and videos across devices.

Last but not least, OS X 10.10.4 is here to fix an issue with the Mail app, where outgoing e-mail messages where delayed, and addresses a bug in the Safari web browser that caused certain websites to stop the user from navigating to another website because of a repeated JavaScript alert.
