Apple has released today, March 31, 2016, the first point release for the recently announced iOS 9.3 software update for supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, fixing an annoying bug reported by many users.

Today's iOS 9.3.1 update comes exactly ten days after Apple made the major iOS 9.3 release public during the "Let Us Loop You In" event held on the Apple campus in Cupertino on March 21, 2016, where the company also unveiled the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro devices.

If you've been reading the news lately, and if you've already updated your device(s) to iOS 9.3, you might be aware of a bug that causes any web link to crash your app when pressed either in the Safari web browser or other application. Apparently, it affected many users, so Apple needed to fix it as soon as possible.

Therefore, today you can update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices to the iOS 9.3.1 software, which is now live for all users. The release notes state that the update fixes an issue that caused apps to be unresponsive after tapping on links in Safari and other apps.

Here's how to update to iOS 9.3.1 right now

If you haven't done so by now, you'll need to update to iOS 9.3.1 immediately, so press on the Settings app, go to the General section, and then access Software Updates. There, wait a few seconds for the device to fetch information about the iOS 9.3.1 update, which should appear on the screen as you can see in the screenshot attached.

Press the "Download and Install" button, agree to the license agreement (press twice) and wait for the iOS 9.3.1 update to be downloaded. When the download is complete, make sure that the device is charged over 50% or connected to a charger, and then proceed with the installation by choosing "Install Now."
