iPhone 8 will launch with iOS 11 out of the box

Apple has launched new beta versions of IOS 11 for both developers and public testers, as the company is now giving the final touches to the next release of its mobile operating system.

iOS 11 beta 8 for developers and beta 7 for public testers are both up for grabs from Settings > General > Software Update on iPhones that have been enrolled in Apple’s beta program.

As it’s the case of all the other beta versions of iOS, it’s hard to tell what’s new, as the focus is most of the time aimed at fixing bugs and refining specific features of the operating system, without any visible changes to users.

On the other hand, this is particularly important for both Apple and its users, especially since we’re getting closer to the official launch date of iOS 11 and the company needs to make sure the operating system runs as smoothly as possible for everyone.

Final version of iOS 11 landing next month

And while Apple hasn’t said a single thing about the release of the final iOS 11 version, a recent leak provides us with a hint at a possible launch date, at least on new devices.

The iPhone 8 is projected to be unveiled on September 12 as part of a press conference that would also witness the debut of the new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, and pre-orders for all these devices are expected to go live the next Friday on September 15.

This means all the new iPhones could go on sale one week later on September 22, and given that iOS 11 will come pre-installed, there’s a chance this is the day when Apple pushes the go-ahead button for the final version of the OS as well.

This is just a guess for the time being, and more information should be provided sometime very soon, as Apple is expected to start sending out invites to the press this week.
