Apple just released a few moments ago the first minor update to the iOS 11 mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, bringing various bug fixes and improvements to your iPhone and iPad devices.

iOS 11.0.1 is an unexpected update, but it's more than welcome as it promises to address various bugs and issues, as well as to further improve the mobile OS for supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The software update is available for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices as well.

Two builds are available for download, 15A402 and 15A403, from the downloads page on your Apple Developer account, but if you're updating via OTA (Over-the-Air) update system, you'll get the version that corresponds to your device. More specifically, iOS 11.0.1 build 15A403 is targeted only at iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices.

Users are urged to install the software update immediately

If you're running the iOS 11 operating system on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you should stop what you're doing and apply the iOS 11.0.1 software update. To do that, simply open the Settings app, go to the General app and then access the Software Update section. Click "Download and Install" to install the iOS 11.0.1 update.

Your device will be rebooted automatically for the new update to be correctly installed. iOS 11 is a major release that launched on September 19, 2017, with a totally revamped and customizable Control Center, a redesigned App Store, new Siri features, a redesigned lock screen, an all-new interface for the iPad, and many other cool new features.

All users running iOS 11.0 are urged to update to iOS 11.0.1 as it most likely addresses important security issues and could also improve the overall performance of your devices. If you're not using iOS 11, we recommend installing iOS 11.0.1 directly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device.
