Apple continues work on iOS 10, and today the company has rolled out another beta for developers, introducing several important changes that pave the way for the final release due in September.

iOS 10 beta 3 for developers is available through the beta configuration profile offered by Apple on its developer center and comes with a series of improvements and bug fixes refining the overall performance on both iPhones and iPads.

For example, Apple introduces a new taptic feedback when iPhone is manually locked, but also brings back the keyboard click and lock sounds that were available in the first beta, but got removed in the second release. This new sound gives a more modern and fresh feel to users who move to iOS 10, and since it’s back in this beta, the chances are that Apple wants to keep it for the final release as well.

Additionally, this new beta comes with a long list of bug fixes (which kind of makes sense, given the fact that it’s still in testing stage), so for example, the “Rest Finger to Open” setting should now work correctly after updating, and so should replying to messages from the lock screen.

Without a doubt, there’s more to discover in this release, but given the fact that Apple doesn’t provide a detailed changelog for beta versions of its software, it’s up to users to spot the improvements.

iOS 9.3.3

In addition to the new beta version of iOS 10, Apple has also updated the stable release, so iOS 9.3.3 is now available for download OTA and via iTunes.

This new version doesn’t bring any new features, but only bug fixes and performance improvements that have all been tested as part of five different betas released in the last few weeks.

To download the new iOS versions, go to Settings > General > Software Update, but keep in mind that, for iOS 10, you need to be running the beta profile offered when registering on Apple’s Developer website.

Charging the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch before starting the download process is generally a good idea because the process takes some time to complete, and as an alternative, you can keep it plugged to a charger until the device is brought back to the lock screen.
