Just a few moments ago, Apple released the final versions of the iOS 10.1, macOS Sierra 10.12.1, watchOS 3.1, and tvOS 10.0.1, which are now available for everyone who wants to keep their devices up to date.

Last week, when we reported the release of fifth Beta builds of the macOS Sierra 10.12.1 and iOS 10.1 operating systems, we told you that Apple could push the final versions of these maintenance updates to the stable channel, just in time for the Japan launch of their popular Apple Pay service, which is now live for everyone.

So there you have it, iOS 10.1 is the first major update to the iOS 10 mobile operating system for supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, including the recently unveiled iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, for which it introduces the new Portrait camera mode (currently still in Beta stages).

But it looks like iOS 10.1 brings an improved Maps app that now features transit support for every major national bus line, train, ferry, subway, and local bus system in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, along with transit fare comparison when viewing the alternative transit routes.

The Messages app also received various much-needed improvements in today's iOS 10.1 updates, such as a new option that lets users replay the full-screen and bubble effects, support for viewing the effects when the "Reduce Motion" option is active, as well as a bunch of fixes for some of the most annoying bugs.

Additionally, it looks like there are several improvements for better Apple Watch support, and lots of other bug fixes, which you can view in detail if you check out the screenshot gallery attached at the end of the article. watchOS 3.1 is also out today, and you'll have to first install iOS 10.1 on your iPhone device to update your Apple Watch to watchOS 3.1.

Here's what's new in macOS Sierra 10.12.1

On the other hand, Mac users can now update their computers to the first point release of the macOS Sierra 10.12 operating system, versioned 10.12.1, which improves the Photos app with automatic smart album support for those beautiful bokeh photos taken with the iPhone 7 Plus device running the iOS 10.1 build.

Furthermore, by installing the macOS Sierra 10.12.1 update on their supported desktops and laptops, Mac users will get better Microsoft Office compatibility with the iCloud Desktop and Documents service, reliability improvements for the Apple Watch Auto Unlock functionality introduced in macOS Sierra 10.12, and the latest Safari security fixes, just in time for Apple's new Mac computers.

Apple also released today the first maintenance update to the tvOS 10 operating system for 4th generation Apple TV devices, versioned 10.0.1, as well as watchOS 3.1 for Apple Watch and Apple Watch Series 2 smartwatches. They bring various stability and security improvements, so take a look at the screenshots below for more details.
