Apple has released today the fourth Beta version of the upcoming iOS 10.3 and macOS 10.12.4 Sierra operating systems for public beta testers and registered developers alike.

Tagged as 14E5260b and 16E175b, the iOS 10.3 Beta 4 and macOS 10.12.4 Sierra Beta 4 builds come only one week after the release of the third Beta milestone, and they are available for early adopters from either your Apple Developer account if you're an application developer or directly from the Mac App Store and iOS' OTA update system.

When testing the macOS 10.12.4 Sierra Beta 4 release, Apple informs testers to focus on the new features that have been implemented, such as Night Shift, which automatically changes the colors of your display to a warmer end of the spectrum after sunset and dictation support for the Shanghainese language.

Additionally, testers should send their feedback for the new Siri support for checking Cricket schedules, player rosters, and scores from either the International Cricket Council and Indian Premier League, as well as the writing, reading, and navigating of PDF documents using the system-provided APIs.

iOS 10.3 comes with the Apple File System

On the other hand, iOS 10.3 Beta 4 comes with a major change, namely the Apple File System (APFS), which will automatically format your iOS device when you update. "This conversion preserves existing data on your device. However, as with any software update, it is recommended that you create a backup of your device before updating," said Apple in the release notes.

The rest of the changes included in the fourth Beta release of iOS 10.3 appears to be only small bug fixes to improve the upcoming Find My AirPods feature, as well as iCloud and various other areas. If you're using last week's iOS 10.3 Beta 3 or macOS 10.12.4 Sierra Beta 3 builds on your devices, we recommend updating as soon as possible, but remember to always keep a recent backup of your important files.
