The two shows will come soon to Apple Music

Apple has just released a teaser for its upcoming reality show on Apple Music, which gives app developers some air-time and the possibility to get their ideas funded with up to $10 million. They will need to pitch their idea in under 60 seconds to four influential entrepreneurs, including Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gary Vaynerchuk, and will.i.am.

Developers need to get the show’s hosts interested in the idea, and those selected will partner with an advisor in business and get the opportunity to win millions of dollars. After working on their projects, app developers will be able to pitch their idea to a top venture capital firm.

The show resembles The Voice, but for app developers. Successful apps earn featured placement on the App Store, making them available to millions of users. Planet of the Apps will be available exclusively on Apple Music and it seems that Apple has already finished filming the series in Hollywood.

More than 100,000 apps were submitted to the show’s producers, but only about 100 were selected for filming. Apple’s teaser didn’t mention when the show would air, but it shouldn’t be long now.

A Carpool Karaoke spin-off is also coming to Apple Music

Planet of the Apps isn’t the only original show to make its way to Apple Music; apparently, a Carpool Karaoke spin-off will also be featured. You might have watched The Late Late Show with James Corden and his Carpool Karaoke section, which features famous celebrities riding in the car with James Corden, talking and signing famous songs.

The spin-off will keep some of the main concepts of the initial show, but with a twist. James Corden will no longer drive the car, instead other celebrities will drive around, talk, sing and stop for other random activities.

The two shows sound interesting and entertaining, but they hint to the fact that Apple Music will be expanded to offer Netflix-like content with original series, rather than remaining a service solely for streaming music. If the shows are successful, and we see no reason why they wouldn’t be, Apple will most likely produce other original shows for its Apple Music platform.
