According to a new support article on Apple's website, the Cupertino company has launched a replacement program for the iSight cameras in some iPhone 6 Plus smartphones that are allegedly creating blurry images.

After numerous complaints about the Apple's support forums from users who claimed that their iPhone 6 Plus' camera can't focus and takes blurry/wobbly photos, Apple decided that a limit number of devices are affected due to a bug in the iSight camera.

"If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your device's iSight camera, free of charge," says Apple on the respective web page.

According to Apple, the affected iPhone 6 Plus devices have been sold between September 2014 and January 2015. Users can check if their smartphones are eligible for the new repair program by entering the device's serial number on the respective Apple support page.

The iSight camera replacement program is available worldwide

The good news is that the new iSight camera replacement program for iPhone 6 Plus smartphones is available worldwide, but Apple states that they might limit or restrict repair to the original country of purchase of the defectuous device. Apple also stated that Wireless carrier partners would not be participating in the repair program.

If you find out that your iPhone 6 Plus device is eligible for the replacement program, you should immediately contact your local Apple authorized service provider, retail store, or technical support. However, please note that Apple will first examine your iPhone and then decide if it’s indeed eligible or not.

Before sending your iPhone device to Apple, please keep in mind to make a backup of all your important data. Moreover, if your device has any other issues, such as a cracked screen, please note that Apple might refuse to fix it, so you will need to get that resolved prior to sending the iPhone.
