If you've recently jumped on the macOS Sierra Public Beta bandwagon, you should know that Apple is now rolling out the second Public Beta build of the upcoming macOS Sierra 10.12.4 operating system.

The update comes about 27 hours after the Cupertino company released the macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Beta 2 to registered developers. However, the changes are the same, and now public beta testers can also install the new version on their Macs directly from the Updates tab of the Mac App Store utility.

macOS 10.12.4 Sierra is the fourth maintenance update to the series and will be released this spring along with the iOS 10.3 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, watchOS 3.2 for Apple Watch, and tvOS 10.2 for Apple TV.

Apple also plans to release Apple Configurator 2.4, an app for macOS 10.12.4 or later to set up and deploy groups of identically configured iOS devices, macOS Server 5.3, Safari 10.1 web browser, as well as Xcode 8.3 IDE for application developers.

macOS 10.12.4 to introduce Night Shift, Siri support for Cricket fans

The macOS 10.12.4 Sierra update is not just a simple point release that improves the stability, compatibility, security of your Mac, as it will also introduce a Night Shift functionality like the one we're using on our iOS devices to improve our sleep.

Additional features include Siri support for checking Cricket scores, schedules, and player rosters from the Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council, better PDF manipulation, as well as dictation support for the Shanghainese language.

You can get an early taste of all these features on your Mac if you install the macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Public Beta 2 update. We've prepared an in-depth tutorial for those of you who never installed a Public Beta build of macOS before, but please note that this is a pre-release version and we don't recommend using it as your daily driver.
