Apple is preparing to launch an anniversary iPhone to mark a decade since the first iPhone was launched, and there are some clues regarding the upcoming phone’s design. iDrop posted renders of the upcoming iPhone, revealing its design.

The renders are based on the assumption that the anniversary iPhone will ditch its physical home button, a move that Samsung will also make with its newest flagship, the Galaxy S8. In fact, iPhone Edition seems to resemble the Galaxy S8, with its tiny bezels and expanded display. iPhone Edition is envisioned next to the LG G6 and Galaxy S8, revealing a design very similar to the other two flagships.

The iPhone Edition features a cleaner design with small top and bottom bezels, a dual-camera setup and white back panel revealed in the render. The render also shows the fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the screen, the one that would replace Touch ID.

iPhone Edition will be released later this year

Recent reports have pointed to the fact that Apple’s anniversary phone will be called iPhone Edition and not iPhone 8, as it was previously believed. The smartphone will be the first iPhone to come with an OLED display, while the other two phones that Apple will announce this year will retain the IPS LCD screen.

When it comes to the phone’s screen, it could have a usable space from 5.15 inches to 5.8 inches, while the smartphone’s size could be 4.7 inches. The edge-to-edge display would certainly set the phone apart, together with its wireless charging features.

Apple has already started testing several prototypes of the iPhone Edition, including with glass, aluminum and white ceramic chassis. The introduction of OLED screens, premium materials and other powerful features could drive the phone’s price upwards of $1,000. Apple will also release a new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus later this year.
