One day after announcing the official dates for its upcoming WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) 2016 event, Apple has now unveiled a refresh to its 12-inch MacBook laptop.

The MacBook 2016 refresh is here to bring users the latest Intel processors, thus adding huge improvements to the graphics performance and battery life. With the new Skylake processors, the 12-inch Retina MacBook is now the fastest and lightest Mac ever made, and to make things a little more interesting, it comes, for the first time ever, with a gorgeous rose gold finish.

"MacBook is the thinnest and lightest Mac we have ever made and it’s our vision for the future of the notebook," said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "Customers are going to love this update to MacBook, with the latest processors, faster graphics, faster flash storage, longer battery life and a beautiful rose gold finish."

Technical specifications of the new MacBook 2016 refresh

According to Apple, the new MacBook boasts a sixth-generation dual-core Intel Core M processor running at 1.3 GHz and using the latest Turbo Boost technology to speed things up and offer users a 3.1 GHz frequency, much faster DDR3 RAM running at 1866 MHz. The device also boasts an all-new Intel HD Graphics 515 integrated video card that delivers up to 25 percent faster graphics performance.

Continuing, the MacBook 2016 refresh brings users a faster PCIe-based flash storage to improve their everyday desktop experience with the latest OS X El Capitan operating system and, as most of you expected, a more powerful battery that delivers up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback and 10 hours of wireless web browsing. The new 12-inch MacBook laptop will be available for purchase soon from Apple's online store.
