The next big thing from Apple is really big. The new iPad Pro announced by the Cupertino-based company features a large 12.9-inch Retina display.

It's a little bit larger than Samsung's Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 slate, which measures 295.6 x 204 x 8mm and weighs 753g (battery included).

On the other hand, Apple's iPad Pro measures 305.7 x 222.6 x 6.9mm, which makes it slightly thinner than Samsung's tablet, and weighs 712g (battery included).

According to Apple, the iPad Pro tablet is equipped with a powerful 64-bit A9X chipset and 2GB of RAM. The powerful chip is said to offer twice the memory bandwidth of the previous A8X model, which is included in the Apple iPad Air 2.

The same chipset promises twice the flash storage speed, twice the GPU processing power and about 1.8x better overall performance.

Apple also states that the display of its iPad Pro tablet features variable fresh rate, which is supposed to improve the battery life. It's also worth mentioning that the display supports 2732 x 2048 resolution and features 264ppi (pixel per inch) density.

Even though Apple stated during its launch event that the iPad Pro should provide one day of full use, the confirmed usage time is only 10 hours.

Another highlight of the new iPad Pro is the four-speaker system, which is said to come with automatic balance feature according to how the user tilts the tablet.

The iPad Pro comes with an 8-megapixel iSight camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

Along with iPad Pro, Apple also unveiled two accessories especially for the tablet. The Apple Pencil offers similar functionality as Samsung's S Pen, but uses a different technology and, obviously, it will be sold separately for $99.

The Smart Keyboard is another accessory for iPad Pro, which will sell beginning November for no less than $169.

Apple announced iPad Pro will be available for purchase from November for $799 for the 32GB model and $949 for the 128GB, respectively.

The LTE variant of the tablet will come with 128GB and will cost $1,079. All iPad Pro models will be available in three color options: Silver, Space Gray and Gold.
