Apple announced today during a special event the Apple News+ paid subscription service for digital magazines, supporting the company's iOS and macOS operating systems.

Promising access to more than 300 popular magazines, as well as leading digital publishers and newspapers, the Apple News+ service offers users curated content in an easy-to-ease and eye-pleasing interface via the Apple News app that's already available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.

"We’re committed to supporting quality journalism, and with Apple News+, we want to celebrate the great work being done by magazines and news outlets," said Lauren Kern, editor-in-chief of Apple News. "We think the breadth and quality of publications within Apple News+ will encourage more people to discover stories and titles they may never have come across before."

With Apple News+, you'll have instant access to current and past issues, as well as individual articles from leading magazines like TIME, National Geographic, ELLE, New York Magazine, Esquire, Sports Illustrated, WIRED, Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Health, ESPN The Magazine, InStyle, Entertainment Weekly, Good Housekeeping, Food & Wine, Better Homes & Gardens, and The Atlantic.

Additionally, Apple News+ includes content from leading daily newspapers like People, National Geographic Magazine, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, ELLE, as well as the largest daily newspaper in Canada, Toronto Star, as well as from premium online publications like New York Magazine’s sites Vulture, theSkimm, Extra Crunch from Verizon Media’s TechCrunch, The Highlight by Vox, and The Cut and Grub Street.

Available in the US and Canada for $9.99/month

The Apple News+ subscription service is available starting today with the iOS 12.2 and macOS Mojave 10.14.4 software updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users in the US and Canada. Apple News+ costs $9.99 USD per month in the US and for $12.99 CAD in Canada, and it will be accessible through the existing Apple News app on all your devices. Apple News+ will also be coming to UK and Australian users later this year.

Apple will offer a free one-month trial for all new customers who sign up for its Apple News+ service starting today. Just like Apple Music, your Apple News+ subscription plan will renew automatically after the trial ends unless you cancel it from the App Store app. Apple News+ also supports Family Sharing so you can share it with up to six family members at no additional cost. Apple also unveiled today Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade serices.
