After developers will fix all bugs that didn't surface in beta releases, the crash rate will return to normal levels

Even though iOS 9 has arrived two days ago with numerous improvements and under-the-hood refinements, the app crash rate will be on the rise mainly because not all third party developers haven had the time to make their apps work flawlessly on the new iOs release.

According to a chart by Statista, each time a new iOS version is released users experience an increase in app crashes. This is due to a large number of apps that have to be updated and the time developers dedicate to fixing those issues before the new iOS release is launched.

As a case study, after the release of iOS 8 have spiked for about a month just until most developers fix bugs in their apps, reaching a normal level once they get accustomed to the way the new iOS version works.

iOS 9 users to experience an increase in app crashes until developers sort out the bugs

Because the app crash rate spikes after an iOS release follows a pattern given by the number of apps that haven't been tested enough on the stable version, users will most probably also experience an increase in crashes on their iOS devices running iOS 9.

Since the adoption rate of iOS 9 has already reached 20%, the number of bug reports should also increase for most third party apps available via Apple's App Store.

As a direct consequence, you should check the App Store Updates tab in the next few weeks for new app updates that fix known and unknown bugs.

iOS 9 has been launched on September 16, with multiple under-the-hood refinements and a focus on increasing the overall stability, as well as better security and faster apps.
