Windows Phone is going through really difficult times these days, and both developers and Microsoft seem to be less interested in investing in the platform.

With all the rumors that Microsoft could discontinue the Lumia brand in December, but also given the dropping market share, it was just a matter of time until more developers started abandoning the platform, and this is exactly what is happening right now.

eBay has already confirmed that it’s giving up on Windows Phone, and now Indian company GOQii seems to be working on doing the same thing.

The company is making fitness activity trackers and Windows Phone was one of the supported platforms from the very beginning, but due to the declining market share, it seems like this strategy is changing.

GOQii 2.0 does work on Windows phones, but “not all features are supported,” the company said in a series of tweets as reported by MSPU. As for the reasons that forced the company to make this decision, the company offered a brief response that pretty much explains everything.

“Maybe you should be writing to Microsoft to increase their share that will encourage more to support their platform. We are not at fault here.”

Microsoft gets it all wrong

Without a doubt, the declining market share of Windows Phone is the main reason so many companies switch the focus to Android and iOS.

And what’s worse is that Microsoft itself doesn’t seem to be too keen on denying rumors and providing us with a glimpse into its mobile plans, so nobody can tell for sure if the company still wants to release new phones or not. For the moment, everybody hopes that the Surface Phone is real, as Redmond is expected to introduce a new flagship device running Windows 10 Mobile in the spring of 2017.

But even this project is uncertain, and Microsoft continues to remain completely tight-lipped on it, so it’s hard to tell if Windows 10 Mobile still has a future or not.
