The Anonymous hacker collective has put out a video threatening to "dismantle" Donald Trump's presidential campaign, announcing a series of cyber-attacks against a several of his personal and business websites on April 1, 2016.

Despite a growing number of followers, Donald Trump has continued to make headlines around the world through a series of controversial or downright racist remarks.

His mouth's affinity for getting him in trouble has done just that, and now, the infamous Anonymous hacker collective is readying its forces for an all-out assault on Trump's online presence, set for April Fools' Day. The date is certainly not a coincidence.

Trump has been the target of other cyber-attacks in the past months

Prior to this recent campaign announcement, Anonymous had only launched a small attack against Trump in December, when they DDoSed one of his Trump Towers websites, mainly for his anti-Muslim views surrounding the recent Syrian refugees crisis.

After that, the New World Hacking crew also launched a series of DDoS attacks against his campaign website, but both incidents were short-lived, and everything returned to normal a few days later.

A more serious event occurred at the start of March, when a group of 4chan users decided to prank-call on one of Donald Trump's phone numbers but ended up hacking his voicemail and dumping his messages online.

To prepare the event, Anonymous hackers have put out a list of websites they want to DDoS. Currently, the list includes six of Donald Trump's own websites and two websites created in support of his campaign by two groups of third-party upholders.

The last time Anonymous launched this kind of call to arms was when they launched #OpISIS, asking members to hunt down ISIS-affiliated accounts and report them to Twitter's staff.
